CAREGIVER LEADER – Full time

Our Caregiver Leaders perform a variety of duties that ensure the highest quality service to clients. Client assignments include Short Notice Call Outs, Regular Shifts and New Starts. Candidates must commit to work a minimum of 40+ hours per week and a willingness to work 1 weekend per month in rotation with other CAREGIVER LEADERS.

This is what our clients need:

• Companionship and conversation
• Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
• Medication and appointment reminders
• Assistance with grooming and bathing
• Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
• Alzheimer’s Care (We train)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality services to clients
• Provide in-home training for IADL’s (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) and ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) to CAREGivers
• Report all client and CAREGiver issues to ensure their problems are resolved
• Provide caregiver relief and coverage for short notice call outs
• Assist in the stabilization of new clients and high needs clients
• Work with new CAREGivers in “Shadow Shifts” for preparing them to assume a new client
• Ability to perform Personal Care to bed bound clients, giving bed baths and utilizing a sliding board and Hoyer lift.
• Ability to work with clients receiving Hospice care or at the end of life.

Requirements:

• Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
• Be a good and patient listener in a friendly and polite manner
• Must have the availability to work evenings or weekends as required
• Must be able to work in all Home Instead areas – East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston and Iberville Parishes
• Willingness to work with male and/or female clients as well as those who smoke and have pets.
• Complete Background Check, DMV check and drug screen
• Possess a valid driver’s license, social security card and valid auto insurance
